Tata Under Investigation in Chile

In April 2008 an investigation began in Chile into Tata Consultancy Services, a member of the Tata Group, over allegations of illegal payments made to Guillermo Arenas (ex-director of the Chilean “Civil Registry”) to secure an IT contract linked to the updating of the National ID system. The US$80m contact was cancelled.
