PWS Holdings Under Investigation in the UK for Allegedly Paying Bribes in Costa Rica

In March 2008 it was reported that due to bribery allegations against the British insurance company PWS Holdings, a Costa Rican court ordered an asset recovery of value USD2.1 million against Mr. Miguel Angel Rodriguez, who was the Costa Rican President between 1998 and 2002, Mr. Cristóbal Zawadzki, ex-president of the estate-owned National Insurance Institute (INS) and other civil servants during the 1998-2002 period.

Earlier in February 2008, the Serious Fraud Office in the UK confirmed that PWS Holdings was under investigation in the UK for allegedly paying bribes in Costa Rica.
