In July 2007, the media in Ghana reported on the contents of an investigative report published on the 21st and 22nd April 2007 by Geir Imset and Harald Vanvik, Ghana/Oslo, in the Det Norske Magazine, which alleged that the Norwegian cement company, SCANCEM had paid tens of millions of dollars to African leaders and politicians of Ghana, Nigeria and Togo through anonymous bank accounts in Luxembourg and Switzerlan, during the 1990s.
