France Prosecutes Over 40 Companies Named in Oil for Food Report

In April 2006 the media reported that over 40 leading French companies including Peugeot, Renault and the French subsidiary of Siemens, were being prosecuted for paying Saddam Hussein kickbacks.

Only the large-scale offenders are to be prosecuted. The other 300 firms implicated in the scandal will not be called to account.
