Scotland: Police Probe into Labour Council Corruption in Scotland

In May 2005, it was reported that police in Scotland were examining allegations of corruption at a Scottish Council. Opposition leaders at North Lanarkshire Council were demanding a full inquiry.

The allegations were made by councillor, Sam Love, who gave police a dossier of evidence against elected members of the Labour-dominated council.

Mr Love alleged that labour councillors were paid bribes to pass planning applications.

As yet the construction company involved has not been named.
