Ferrostaal Investigated following Allegations of Bribery to Abacha

In 2003, the German media reported that Ferrostaal, part of the MAN group, was under investigation for allegedly having paid DM460m in bribes to the late General Abacha to win a contract for the construction of a metals factory in Nigeria.

Ferrostaal, the German industrial services company, allegedly made two payments into the account in October 1996 worth DM20m, equivalent at the time to pound&8.2m.
